About Margaret:

We are Margaret. A B Corp, creative studio and community specialising in cultural

communications andcontent creation. We use our cultural knowledge and creative connections to

build campaigns whichreach influential audiences and make a positive difference. Currently with

a core team of approaching 20people working from central London, Margaret prides itself on

providing a new way of working -flexible, open and fun with a hybrid structure in place combining

a team work space and days workingfrom home. You can see and hear more from us and our work

via our Instagram channel @Margaret_London. Our clients include both commercial brands and

cultural institutions/creators which sets us aside from your regular creative agency. Current clients

range from Levis, Brugal, July Hotel Group, Earthrise to The Photographers’ Gallery, FORWARDS

Festival, Modern Films and Marshmallow Laser Feast.

 

As our New Business Manager you will work closely with our Co-founders, Managing

Director and Heads of Departments to identify and secure new business opportunities,

ensuring we have a steady income and project pipeline.

 

Key Skills/Attributes

The ideal candidate will be an excellent salesperson with a knowledge and love of culture and a proven

track record of developing and securing new business opportunities.

 

You will also have well-established contacts and networks, with experience of working directly

withcultural brands as well as know your way around writing proposals and pitching.

 

Previously new business has been generated by the Co-founders and Company Directors so this

is a brand new position for us. It’s therefore essential that you fit in well with our team and share the

same inclusive, creative, proactive, considered, straight talking and sustainably minded

approach and values.

 

Key Responsibilities & Skills:

 

To lead the planning, development, and implementation of an effective and ambitious business
development strategy that meets Margaret’s objectives and net income targets.

To identify and develop new business acquisitions to secure commercial opportunities, with a
stronger focus on brands but also spanning cultural institutions/events.

To develop and manage a pipeline of existing as well as potential new clients, tracking outreach and communications as well as suggesting and delivering on creative and innovative ways to target and look after them.

Work alongside department heads to develop proposals, with strong creative ideas and well scoped out costings.

Follow our company processes to ensure smooth handovers of new business to the appropriate teams, involving them as required in meetings.

To keep abreast of sector-wide developments and trends, keep up-to-date contacts across the industry, and attend industry events as directed.

Work with our marketing and PR teams to ensure new business opportunities are maximised across social and marketing channels, Margaret generated campaigns, awards entered, trade press announcements made etc.

Regularly monitor and analyse website traffic and other Margaret marketing channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, monthly newsletter etc).

Act as an ambassador for Margaret at external creative industry, brand and cultural events, as well as our own Margaret Mornings and other events.

Develop exciting and creative commercial partnerships of 5- and  6-figure value with credible and like minded brands.

Research, identify and approach prospects via written correspondence, phone calls, face-to-face presentations, new business focused campaigns and event invitations. Produce high-quality proposals, presentations and sales collateral as required.

Draft and prepare relevant contracts/ heads of agreement and support the Managing Director and other Department Heads in contractual negotiations.

Nurture relationships with current and prospective brand partners, growing and developing this community for us on our behalf.
