THE PHOTOGRAPHERS’ GALLERY

COMMUNICATIONS AGENCY

BRIEF

Lead the international media campaigns for all exhibitions, commissions and awards at The Photographers’ Gallery in London, as its retained PR agency.

Margaret works with The Photographers’ Gallery to bring its exhibitions and programmes to wider audiences, building awareness and connecting photography with broader cultural conversations.

IDEA

This year Margaret has worked on some standout exhibitions at The Photographers’ Gallery, including Dennis Morris: Music + Life. Our goal was to secure top tier media coverage of the show to reach core audiences interested in music, celebrity culture, fashion social history and of course, photography.

IMPACT AND RESULTS

The campaign generated widespread national and international attention, helping the exhibition reach new audiences and bringing Dennis Morris’ story to people interested in culture beyond the gallery’s existing community.

Coverage highlights for Dennis Morris: Music + Life included rave reviews in The Guardian and Time Out, plus standout features and interviews on BBC Radio 6: Lauren Laverne, BBC World Service: Outlook, The Times, The Observer, The London Standard, ITV News London, BBC Radio London, Rolling Stone, Songlines, Aesthetica, Dazed and Esquire.

Visitors cited media coverage, particularly the radio interviews, as the prompt to visit the exhibition and the exhibition succeeded in reaching new audiences, in particular the gallery saw an increase in international and first-time visitors, demonstrating our campaign’s ability to expand reach and engagement.

Margaret has secured over £30 Million+ media coverage for The Photographers’ Gallery annually since 2017.
